Diabetes Professional Care 2015

London’s biggest diabetes show, Diabetes Professional Care 2015, debuting this November (11 & 12) at the Barbican Exhibition Centre will be brimming with new technologies and products, ground-breaking solutions, but also real contacts to provide the latest advice when it comes to the prevention, care and management of diabetes.
The free two-day CPD accredited multi-stream conference and exhibition will bring together diabetes professionals from around the globe, making it the ideal shop window through which to showcase products and services in front of thousands of decision makers, healthcare professionals, clinical commissioning groups and scientists.
Toby Baker, Event Director of Diabetes Professional Care 2015, says: “This event is the perfect place to discover the latest developments across the whole diabetes spectrum. The show provides an ideal opportunity to discuss individual equipment requirements and solutions with suppliers face-to-face, building partnerships for the future. All our visitors have a part to play and as such are either prescribers, budget holders or influencers in the purchase of products and services. So for anyone working in this industry, this show is not to be missed!”
Our event partner Team Blood Glucose will be exhibiting at DPC2015, a not-for-profit social enterprise company with a single purpose, to help all those with or at risk of diabetes, learn how to use activity, sports and exercise, as a core tool in the management of Diabetes.
TeamBG inspires people with, and those at risk of diabetes to achieve their sports and exercise goals; to educate people with diabetes on the benefits of activity, sports and exercise and to equip them with the tools to achieve their ambitions. As conference partners, and as people with diabetes, the company will demonstrate that exercise, activity and sporting events can be achieved safely by people with Diabetes - whether it is a walk in the park with family or joining TeamBG on its own Diabetes Grand Tour.
Abbott Diabetes Care will be presenting its FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System. This system is designed to be discreet and easy to apply and it represents technology which makes glucose testing hassle-free. A small sensor automatically measures and continuously stores glucose readings day and night. The user friendly system gives glucose readings with a painless 1 second scan even through clothing (from a distance of 1-3 cm), with every scan giving the user their current glucose reading, the last 8 hours of glucose data and an arrow showing the direction their glucose is heading.
Flexitol, the leading experts in professional foot and skincare treatments, will be showcasing its pioneering Treat and Maintain range including Platinum Heel Balm, Heel Magic and Hard Skin and Callus Balm. The specialist foot care products are formulated to not just treat foot complaints but encourage a regime for healthy, happy feet.  As a result the Flexitol Heel Balm is the most prescribed (25%) urea heel balm on the NHS.
Dr Trudi Deakin, a research dietitian who is Chief Executive of X-PERT Health will be unveiling two new handbooks: The step-by-step guide to low carb living and The prevention and management of diabetes. In addition to showcasing five new educational visual aids, such as Carbohydrate awareness and Understanding food labels, which have been designed to help educate the consumer on dietary requirements in an easy to use magnetic label format.
