CHRONIC PAEDIATRIC PATIENT: A CROATIAN INTEGRATED MODEL

Chronic illness has been defined as a disorder with a protracted course that can be fatal or associated with a relatively normal life span despite impaired physical or mental functioning.

Although any individual childhood illness is rare and has its own prevalence, it is estimated that up to 20% of the school-age population has a medical illness or disabling condition. Children with chronic diseases need health and other services different in type and broader than those that meet the needs of children in general need.

This article looks at the administration in improving care for chronic paediatric patients. The clinical update will be dedicated to the co-morbidities that affect obese children and adolescents.
