LONDON SYMPOSIUM: Can doping in sport ever be stopped?



Double Olympic gold medallist Dr. Edwin Moses, Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy and member of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Board of Directors, will join Laureus Academy Members, Boris Becker and Daley Thompson, top athlete Colin Jackson and well as leading experts in anti-doping science tomorrow for a seminar focused on Science and Ethics and Doping in Sport.


Facilitated by Laureus and The Times and supported by the Sports Journalists' Association of Great Britain (SJA) the seminar aims to encourage dialogue and to increase the level of understanding and awareness of the important roles science and ethics play in the fight against doping in sport.


Among the invited anti-doping experts taking part tomorrow will be: Dr Larry Bowers, Chief Science Officer, USADA; Professor David Cowan, Director of King's College London's Drug Control Centre; Olivier Niggli, WADA Legal Director and Partner, Carrard & Associates; and Andy Parkinson, Chief Executive, UK Anti-Doping, Jonathan Harris – LOCOG Medical Services Manager Anti-Doping.
