A Dutch court ruled that GlaxoSmithKline's patent covering Advair (salmeterol/fluticasone), as well as the supplementary protection certificate, is not valid in the country, finding in favour of Novartis' Sandoz and Hexal units. The company said it "is currently studying the judgment and will be considering the possibility of an appeal to a higher court."
