Experts call for Novo Nordisk to reconsider withdrawal of Mixtard 30 in UK

Novo Nordisk's plans to withdraw insulin treatment Mixtard 30 from the UK have been criticised by a group of diabetes experts. In a letter, the experts argued that modern replacements for Mixtard 30, such as NovoMix 30, were "neither more effective nor safer," as claimed by the drugmaker. They also assert that the move to withdraw the product by the end of 2010 will cost the NHS 9 million pounds ($14.3 million).
