AcuFocus has announced the commercial launch and availity of its KAMRA inlay and the AcuTarget system in eye care centres across Asia and Europe. The KAMRA has been designed to create a small aperture effect for the eye allowing patients to see near and intermediate objects more clearly. The AcuTarget system is an exclusive and patented technology used to guide surgeons on proper surgical placement of the inlay.
Data on a 3-year postoperative study examining the perfomance of the corneal inlay were presented at this year´s ESCRS revealing that there is a significant improvement in both uncorrected near visual acuity( UNVA) and intermediate uncorrected visual acuity( UIVA).
